door cracked :(

Default door cracked :(

well my door cracked on my 01 SS and I'm looking for a replacement now. I found a nice cheap door on ebay, but its for a trans am..does the trans am part come off easily? I'm gonn ahve the door repainted the same color as my car..so i'm wondering how hard it'll be to get off.

yes, it does. it has double sided tape holding it on. use a screw driver.

Just out of curiosity....what part of the door cracked?

So you are3 going to put a 'Trans Am', (Firebird), door on your Camaro?!?

the exterior door skin is different on Birds and Camaros. Go find another!... else its gonna look like a redneck shitbox.

The way I read it he wants the Trans Am door just for the shell itself, and has plans on replacing the Trans Am skin with a Camaro skin.

It's nothing but a skin. The inner structure is the same as the camaro. The skin is the only part specific to the camaro or firebird.

okays..thats what I needed to know..I thought all the doors were the same. if they were..i weas gonna buy this door..get the trans am part off and paint it black. it has about a 12inch crack starting at the modling in the middle going all the way down to the bottom almost...my cousin backed into my car one night..lol..but I got cash for it...now i jsut need to get it fixed.

The SMC outer shell can be fixed if done right and would be cheaper than buying a door.
