You know we should all have beaters as daily (and weekend) drivers because half the people on this site, including me, would really attempt to kill someone if we caught them in the act.

I've got a few more payments on the SS and then I'm getting an Avalanche with a lift and some off-road bumbers and brush guards. THEN… anybody ***** with me and I'll just pull a monster truck on their ride!

I went to Lowe's last night. I had the T-Tops out cause it was such a nice day… low humidity, mostly sunny. I parked way down one aisle, at least four spaces from the nearest car, as usual. I rolled up the windows and locked the car but, left the tops out as I normally would do when making a quick stop. I was inside Lowe's about 20 minutes. When I came out and walked down to my car I noticed some drips of liquid running down my driver's door window. I immediately thought it was starting to rain. I looked up… no clouds. Maybe a bird pissed on it? I was at least two spaces from the nearest tree and there were no power lines nearby. Okay… WTF?

So, I opened the door and there was my answer. Some SOB had poured a ******' Sprite or Mountain Dew in my seat. There's this fizzy puddle just soaking into the leather. I just stood there in shock for half a minute and then realized that I had nothing in the car to soak it up with. Not one damn rag or towel. Just a couple pieces of paper. As I pressed down on the seat with the paper I could tell that more liquid was oozing out out the seat than what I could actually see. I did what I could with the paper and drove home sitting on a floormat. Then I soaked the seat with Windex and blotted and dried it as much as possible and then wiped it down with some leather cleaner/protectant. Just wondering if there's anything else I should do to the leather. I know that **** soaked into the padding. If they were cloth seats, I'd just break out the steamvac. But, that wouldn't work on leather… would it?

If I ever catch some asswipe doing this kind of **** in the future, doesn't even matter if it's not my car, he's going to endure the retribution that has accumulated for ALL past and future asswipes like himself.

You're good since you clean it right away. The only thing of concern is why you put a dirty floor mat on your seat and then clean it with windex?

The floormat was the small, backseat mat… rubber side down… and that was just for the ten minute ride home in order to keep my shorts dry, not to absorb the soda. The Windex was used to try to cut the stickiness of the soda and dilute it to make it easier to absorb. Then I cleaned it with leather cleaner.

The windex is probably not a good idea, there are harsh chemicals in there...hence the ammonia smell. Just some advice, dont use that anymore.

Screw your shorts man, you could get them washed! I would have whipped off my shirt and started padding down the seat... altho I'm one of those **** people and I would NEVER leave the ttops off unless I was within viewing range at all times.

Sorry to hear about that =/ maybe a professional detailer knows some tricks?

Dude, for some reason that hillbilly ****'s got me laughing.

But seriously, I never thought about that before- you know, parking farther away to avoid door dings (cause I always do that). But I guess when you park farther away to avoid the dings and ****, the low-life scumbags (I ain't got hillbillies, just low-life scumbags) are thinking, "He thinks his car is special so he parks it far away from everyone else". I think I'd rather take a chance on the dings. On one hand you got inconsiderate ****** and on the other hand you have low-life scumbags. Damn, you can't win.

Animal, sorry to hear about that. I hope your seat cleaned up well. I have only had my car for a couple of months, but I have had good luck so far. I do admit that I worry, though. Shortly after I purchased it, I took it out to an evening movie, parking way out in the boonies. When I go out, sure enough, three other vehicles were parked out near my car. Lucky for me, they were all nice f-bodies, and they formed a real nice defensive perimeter for my car, all properly spaced like they were.

In all seriousness, though, I do not want to lose my temper and kill or maim someone because they do not respect me or my property. It just is not worth it. Like so many, I take great pains to take care of my car. Hell, I spent all weekend doing the Zaino thing. Still, I am better than the jerk(s) who vandalized your car. From a practical standpoint, the long term repercussions of attacking somebody or vandalizing their property could far outweigh the time or money I would have to spend to clean/repair my car. Sure, maybe I could just jack a guy in the jaw and drive home. Justice served. Then again, maybe he gets my plate and sics the police on me. Maybe he decides he wants to kick my a** after I hurt his fragile ego when I pop him. Sure, maybe I can take care of myself, but what happens if the situation gets to a point where it is kill or be killed. Legally, I started it. If I come out on top, I still go to jail for a long time. I realize some people just need to vent because we are surrounded by a**holes, and they wear us down. That is ok. Just be careful.

Back on topic, really sorry to hear about that, man. I'd kill the f***er that messes with my car like that.
yeah but w/ our luck and shitty laws, they can say that they werent notified of being recorded and it be thrown out. wouldnt really happen i hope but that would be my luck.

sorry to hear bro, i would kill someone if i saw that happen to my car or someone elses car.

i had a system stolen from my first car, i was furious and wish i saw it happen they would be
