Well up until you get reallly close the hatch (which is 22% for me) looks completely black. From any distance beyond like 5 yards anything under 25% looks around the same. Yea if you had them side by side youd see a slight difference...but comparison wise you wouldnt be able to tell whether a car had 20% or 5% if you were standing 5-10 yards away. depending on the light you MIGHT be able to, but i would think it would be difficult.

I guess on an F-body it may be different too... each car plays out a tint differently... IE my TA has 20% and it's much darker than my wifes.

If you have dark interior it will look darker from the outside. (fact) I wish a lot of you guys lived in Sacrmento, california or near there because my roomate tints windows for real cheap and it is 3M tint the best tint out on the market.I just tell him there my car club buddies and he does it for around $150.00 Also i didnt know they made 22% tint.

I love dark tint. I just hate not being able to see behind me at night. I've been know to back into a car or two in my day..lol. I have 2.5% on my work truck. Awesome during the day, but if have to drive it at night i can't see crap ..lol. I've always had extremely dark tint. After a year i'm still on the fence about doing my car.

I got mine done for $165 + tax. However, i had to bring it back once so they would give me the warranty (they need to see it like 3-5 days after its done to make sure its OK) and i actually brought it back yesterday because at the very top of my hatch the tint started to peel (3rd gen hatches are EXTREMELY hard to tint right...as i found out). So ive actually spent alot in gas just driving to the place which is like 20 miles away...and what really bothers me is that its in the downtown section of the 'big' city in my area...and my car bottoms out everywhere, and its so high risk for an accident on alot of the small two lane 1 way streets. All in all i would have rather gotten it done at the place closer to my house that charged $30 more. I have a heart attack every time i take my car to the tint shop now. Also, around here...tint %'s are all wierd. The shops tint with wierd numbers such as 6%, 16%, 22%, 32% and 42%.

One last thing... the brand of tint used is like Solar something i think Is that a good brand??? I mean this shop is really reputable but i dont know what brands of tint are the best.

Damn what looks best, better check your state tint laws first. I have gotton a $200 window tint fine before. Hell and the tint only cost $150.

It's one of those things that falls under the "gotta pay to play" rules.

I think anything 20% and under looks great from the outside. The only thing I have to say is get the SAME % ALL the way around. There is nothing gayer than a car with say 35% on the front windows and 2% on the back. I have always just done 20% all the way around and couldnt be happier.

wouldnt it be kinda cool to have like those "window clingy" things... but ones that were tint... so you could have like 5% then take it off at night... plus tint on the fronts here is illegal 50% so i could stick the dark ones on, then wehn i get pulled over peel em off...

I have 5% percent on the sides and back! I love it! I've thought about putting a layer of 20 on top of it so you could NOT see in!
