Sorry, but IMO the SS should keep the SS hood, and the Z28s shoudl get the aftermarket hoods.....nothing looks better than a damn SS hood, but it is still a nice hood either way.

Looks great man. Im keeping mine stock ride height, my car hooks well, and I dont want to spend thousands on getting the geometry right and lowering it.

Agreed.

You sold your SS hood for $450???

Yep, you should lower that thing for better look, quality ride and traction (getting aftermarket shocks and springs (or coilovers) over the stock ones will NEVER get worse for it, just need to get the right setup!)

Just because you have a Z28 with the SS Appearance Package doesn't mean that you have to stick with the SS hood.

Well i really don't even see why he would buy an SS if he was gonna do that to it. I mean i can understand adding more HP to it but if you start ripping off the appearance stuff that an SS came with what was the point of getting an SS? It seems a z28 could of been had for less, and i'm not meaning this to become an SS vs z28 thread, it just doesn't make any sense to get an SS and strip it of everything that makes it SS more or less.

I'm sure he didn't buy the car with the plan to change hoods.

SS Package: 17" 10-spoke wheels, High Profile Spoiler with LED 3rd Brake Light, "Forced Air Induction" Hood.

Your car has the spoiler only now.......the hood on an SS is one of the more important parts IMO, and the spoiler makes the rear flow with the car better.

I can never see getting rid of one of sexiest hoods ever crafted for the 3rd sexiest hood ever crafted. (2 would have to be the WS6/Raptor/Firehawk)

I agree that the SS hood is probably one of the best-looking hoods, but how many cars nowadays have hood scoops? If I had the SS Appearance Package and money to burn, then I too would have gotten the Sunoco hood or a cowl induction hood just to be different.

I think it looks great! Have always liked a cowl hood on Camaro's. I will be hopefully getting the same hood in the future. And as far as lowering it I wouldnt do it either. I think it looks good the way it is. Nice job!!

thanks derek98z and everyone else well today i will be getting the car out of the paint shop and also few days ago i did the whistler mod and i think that is the best mod i have ever done to the hole car!!! loooooove the black lights!!

TO MAKE THINGS CLEAR: my car was an ss i changed my exhaust from the slp center mount to what i have now! i will soon be ripping that off to save some weight.. i used to have true dauls; however i had some raspy sounding exhaust didnt like it!! i had the ss hood but it was the same as every other ss in this town.....you always want what you dont have !! i guarantee after a few months of haveing the ss hood you would say...... damn i should have bought the sunoco hood !!anyway there is a new hood i think that has a huuuggge cowl looks great called the mike something ....

also posting more pics of painted hood with whistler mod today stay tun'd

Car looks SICK man. How does the hood fit? How is the quality? After looking at every hood out there, I think this is the one i'm going to get, I think it would look awsome on the vert with the roll cage hanging out. Again the car looks AWSOME!!! Good job.

I can't see getting rid of the SS hood either, "just to be different". The SS is different isn't it? I'm a little bias I guess (and yes, its subjective), but cowl hoods never look good on these cars. I could never get over a smooth, low, sleek body line being topped off with towering hood that you'd see on a 87 Monte Carlo....

Looks awesome man! How is the fit? The gap along the front looks a little off in the pics. Or is it just my eyes?
