Default need help makin my SS look good

Hey everyone, i just bought a black 99 SS on friday and it has a centermount exhaust and the hood scoop is painted red to match the emblems. I dont know how much i like the red though, i just dont like red on cars for some reason (actually just MY car). I was thinking of painting it purple. I would also be painting the calipers and the emblems to match the color. Does anyone know how much i should expect to pay a shop to do that kinda work? Thanks!

It varies on the body shop, and the quality.

for just the scoop and emblems, few hundred bucks.

don't have a body guy paint your calipurs, do it yourself just have the body guy give you the paint code when he paints your hood. it's not hard at all.

sounds like you have a good start, jusr dont do ANYTHING on that car in purple and you'll be ok. i suggest changing it to silver or orange if you dont like the red, but def not purple

Personally, I'd go with white, dark grey or all black.

haha ok, i think ive gotten over the purple thing now, i just got back from the auto body place thats by my work. I picked out blue, and the guy said it will cost in the neighborhood of 300 dollars to do the scoop, 4 SS emblems, and the calipers. He said he would have a hard time with the calipers though. Does that sound like a good price? Ive never had any paint work done before.

Yes $300 is a good price, I was quoted $200 for just Blackbird stripes.
If you want to save a little $$ you could paint the calipers yourself, duplicolor has a kit and the colors do include blue (dunno how close it would match) just an FYI for ya
