I was looking into that. If you search you'll find the thread. MSC (industrail supply) sells a clear hose with thin metal wire ribs spaced 1" apart. It cost $109 per foot! 
Maybe if we can get a group purchase going on I'll order it and we can piece it out. Otherwise it'll be a month or so before I can swing the $109 myself for a piece of expensive f#cking rubber.
We can get 3 pieces out of that foot. Using simple math it comes out to about $36 not including shipping. it's actually cheaper than the SLP bellow. Food for thought.
