Yeah but the point behind the Whistler mod is 2 fold. 1) You're saving $$ being you arent buying brand new headlights and 2) you're doing it yourself. ~$10 is a lot better for my wallet than $150+ for brand new headlights.

Made them look 10x worse. They were yellow and somewhat foggy, but now they're just straight up cateraks. I did wetsand them a bit, and used a plastic polish but it made them much much worse. Now you can barely see thru the lense.

I would also rather try and attempt it myself than pay $150 for new headlights. For all the supplies to paint the housing and polish the lens, it would be cheaper to do it this way, and I have the paint and sealant already.

Well I don't like screwing up orignal parts on a mod I'm not sure if I can pull off. It was also posted for those that have tried the mod and failed or have fogged lenses that really need new lights anyways.

If you take your time removing the lense and take your time in masking everything its a fairly idiot proof mod. Those are the 2 "hardest" things about it. If you screw up the housing after that, then $160 vs $150 doesnt sound like that big of a deal. But $10 vs $150 is, at least to my wallet.

Do it or I am going to come over to your house and kick you in your @ss !

P.S. Do NOT use Gloss Black (from a can). Looks cheap IMO. Use LOW-GLOSS Black, looks like a factory mod then.

Do gloss black only if you are spraying it with a real spray gun and real car paint.

To me gloss black (from a can) makes the headlights look obviously spray painted. Just a personal thing...

What do you guys think about how much of the reflector should be painted. If you look at the two pics that were posted, the 1st one by minesfater only has the perimeter of the light painted. In the 2nd post by 1sicv6 the perimeter and the bottom portion of the light is painted all the way back to the rear reflector. I think this way looks a little better but I'm not sure how much this would affect the brightness of the headlights. If you guys have done this and know what way is better please post up your results. Thanks!

Do the bottom portion all the way back to the reflector. It doesn't effect visibility and I think it makes it look more like a factory thing.

I used a satin black.

I used semi-flat black. I painted the entire section going back to the reflector being it looks more uniform then. It may have effected brightness but not enough that I can really tell.
