Alright, my delima is that i've always used microfiber towels on my black TA, as has my father on his black Escalade and his black F-150 harley, neither of us can EVER find a microfiber towel that doesn't leave lint. I'm pretty good with detailing cars, as I do it for many people, but I can't seem to find a towel that won't leave lint on black/dark paints! Any help is greatly appreciated!

edit: I don't know if it's called "lint" for microfiber towels, but you all know what i'm talking about!

hmm....how much do your towels cost each? I mean, i haven't splurged huge amounts of money on mf towels. there's a place in northern arkansas that sells detailing supplies and I buy from them. http://www.topoftheline.com/ I've only bought the 3.00 mf towels from them, but they leave lint, anymore on that website that you think wouldn't?

 

Top of the Line is a great place to order detailing supplies from, but there towels have never been very attractive to me.

Pak Shak, Fiber-Works, and Excel all have affordably priced towels...~$3 for the basic towels. Towels are definitely not a place to penny-pinch (as you've already experienced).

 

Alright, I wasn't sure that because I was paying less for the towels that they weren't the best quality, I guess I know the truth now! Thanks!

 

I've never had issues with the ones I bought from Eagle One. I got 3 large ones for like $10 I think. I bought them the other year at a car show were they had a large semi full of stuff.

 

The $5 Wal-Mart ones don't leave lint.

 

x2 ive used those and some 3 dollar ones from autozone and they were fine

how about a black towel then it would have black lint so u wouldnt see it lol

 

I've been using the 5 dollar ones from advanced and haven't had any problems with lint either.

 

I LOVE the microfiber towels from AutoZone. Never had a problem with lint, but I do have a red car so it might not show up like it might on the black.

Leo- the owner is a great guy and i have had great success with his towels. My Black SS has zero scratches, even in direct sunlight and those towels keep it looking great.

 

All of my microfiber towels are from tropicare. None of them leave lint. I'm getting ready to order some and I was looking at getting some from Pak Shak

 

to dry my car i use an absorber, and its amazing

 

i second the absorber. why anyone would use a towel to dry their car is beyond me, the absorber dries better, doesnt leave swirl marks and you can wash it just like a towel! Maybe you guys should jump on the bandwagon and try this thing out.

 

I use the absorber to get 90% of the water off, but I used the microfiber towels to get the rest of the water off, like around the edges of the window and in the cracks and whatnot, and the second I wipe the car with those towels, BOOM, lint.

 

Ive never had a problem w/ lint w/ my MF towels. But then again, Ive got pewter so its not nearly as noticeable if I do vs your black.

 

I bought an Absorber because it was supposed to be so great. It sucks. It fills up with water and even after wringing it out it still won't soak up any more. It just made a bigger mess. I went back to towels.

 

Maybe you should jump on the bandwagon and try a waffle weave drying towel...it puts the Absorber to shame

P.S. The Absorber can scratch and swirl because it doesn't have any nap.

 

werd. I used the absorber on my truck and it would leave swirls they were small but still it left some. I love my waffle weave towels. I use two to dry my car and truck and it is more than enough

walmart/autozone towels suck. when they grab on to my fingers, they suck.
pakshak, and others ZaneO listed are great.
I've had a few viper polishing MF's from PAC and they are amazing, but very expensive too. not too plush either, but thats what i liked.

tropicare MF's are nice, the orange being favored here, although the blue is supposedly the "nicer" of the two. The blue has a border around it, and a tag, which are a PITA on MF's. Ranee @ Pakshak has ALWAYS gone out of his way to get me what I wanted/needed as soon as possible. Which reminds me I need to order some stuff from him again.
