Get VHT Nightshades, then you can paint it on and not have that problem.

When I did have them, I just popped them on. They fit very snug, but when I tried to put them on a buddy's 97, they were very loose and wouldn't stay on.

Double sided 3M tape, one peice on each side will keep them from flying off.

I'm debating on whether keeping my blackouts or not. I'm afraid of getting rear ended in broad daylight.

take my advice on this one! I have a pair on the rear taillights of my 99 WS6 and they fit fine never had one fly off BBBUUUTTTT the top angled plastic part of the cover that holds the top on hits the hatch and will rub the paint off and damage the edge of the hatch! Just cut off the top angled part of the light cover and get some of that velcro, not the shitty regular kind but the kind that is plastic that you have to literly push together to get it to stick (same kind that comes with other blackouts) then you should be good. I had this happen to my hatch and was not too happy about it!

Mine never popped off till someone with stickey fingers helped themselves to my taillight covers.
