Default replacing reverse lights with brighter ones?

is there a direct swap that does this. or one that would need some fabricating.

i was also thinking bout welding a bracket to the rear end or something back there and have a fog light pointing down behind the car. just to get some more light back there when backing up. maybe have it on a separate switch.

I bought 55W Halogen bulbs for the back-up lights at my local Advanced Auto. They have the correct base to match the stock bulbs - direct plug-in

Not off-hand. But they were located in the light bulb section and there were only (2) versions - pretty easy to see which one is for our cars by the base style. Just take your stocker with you to compare

not sure about Z's, but Europes laws suck and for my 98bird I had to replace my reverse in lue of amber turn signals.A buddy of mine with an 00' Hawk there used local foglites and mounted them on the underside of the gas tank in pre drilled holes. It works great and so I have kepted them on and now have amber turn signals were my reverse used to be.

I'd try that before I stuck some foglights under the back of the car. On a truck it'd be ok (I had 2 KC Daylighters under the bumper of my 03 Dodge dually) but I can't imagine that you'd be able to hide them well enough on a Camaro.

i couldn't find any 55w bulbs at kragen or autozone. so you are saying it is the same plug in as the stock 1156 bulbs?

Yes - Advanced Auto I know has them

Not in the 2 years I've had mine - after all you only spend a total of about 15min/year backing up - the lights aren't on for hours @ a time...

Nope, the 55w is fine. I've had mine in for 6 months or so and no problems. I got mine at Advanced Auto. Like above, I don't remember the part number but there were only 2 kinds and 1 is obviously wrong.
