Default For anyone considering vertical lambo doors

I never was a fan of the mod, but see much interest around here about it freequently. So heres a very good write up and honest opinion from someone who has done it.

Very interesting thread indeed, I really appreciate that the author was candid about the problems encountered. Looks good, personally something I'd never do (only because it costs so much) but if I had everything that I wanted on my car finished and had the money laying around as extra dough, maybe I'd think about it.

It'd make it easier getting in/out of the car in a parking lot, but I'd have to wait until nobody was around before I opened them up.

I'd have to argue a bit with you on that one, though. I'm no expert on vertical door kits, but the ones I've seen in person with people opening the door, you have to open it out first, and then up. The times that people showed me, I asked them to open it only as much as they absolutely had to for moving it up, and it looked like by the point they opened the door out enough to flip up, you could just squeeze out.

So he had to spend all that money first just to discover that wobbling and **** quality? I found that out months ago from seeing those contraptions in action! Thank god I passed on those. For those who MUST have scissor doors, you really should get the GT Factory ones instead. Still the same cheesy look but you at least get superior quality and no wobbling.

yes, definitly get the ones from gt factory much better quality not to mention the VDC kit looks too much like a gull wing door instead of a lambo door. Plus as messenation said the kit can come out some like normal. The GT factory kit goes out enough to open the door so you can get in if you set it like that. Plus they use 2 struts per hinge. I am interested in getting a pair of these for my trans am as long as they design a kit that i dont have to do any cutting on the doors! I wont hack the car up for them!

A kid pulled up outside of my apartment complex with them on his camaro and my girlfriend started laughing at him. I think they look retarded and he had to cut out a lot of his fender to get it to work right.

I think that one is well done.
Thats the best appearing lambo door kit I have seen.
The doors actually open completely vertical and are out of the way instead of "butterflying" out and being in the way (making it more difficult to exit/enter the vehicle instead of easier).

WOW, i have to agree with VIP1 that is by far the best lambo door kit i have ever seen on a trans am so far! Very straight! It must be a kit from GT Factory. Ive never seen one other than theirs that looked that much like a diablo door.
