i dont tihnk it would look too bad on a black car. out of place a little yeah but it adds a bit of personality kind of like a fin on a shark
that being said, nothing i would do to my car.

A guy at the gas station yesterday asked me what exhaust I had on my car. He was drivng a '98 Mustang GT...black...with louvers on the back. Didn't look bad, but did look out of place. Apparently he just bought his Mustang....so maybe he was gonna take them off. Louvers = 80s

Actually, louvers = 70's. Thats when they looked good. I used to have a 79 10th anniversary T/A, and when I bought it, it had the louvers on it. Looked ok, but I took them off anyways, not for me, and certianly dont belong on our cars.

You can achieve the UV protection with tint that doesn't kill the sleek lines of the car.

Noticed a local mach 1 with louvers last night. Black hood, roof, louvers and spoiler on a yellow car. Didnt stand out too much on that car, would look better with just the bare tinted winders IMO though.
its mullets first, then louvers.

Actually the history of the mullet goes back a lot more than this and doesn't normally associate itself with the "louvers" The type of related hair is known as the "skullet" A more severe case of "rockititus" that brings about the "louvers"
Example-

A finer example of "skullet"
