SS Spoiler Damaged In Shipping...Options?
Pics of the damage can be seen here:

I'm presuming this can be fixed by a body shop. It is a genuine SS spoiler and has GM/SLP part #'s on it, so I think it's worth fixing. Any idea on if this is an easy fix or not. Any idea what it might cost? The paint on the rest of the spoiler is acceptable, so is it possible to just fix the ends and touch them up to match, or will the whole spoiler need to be refinished?
I've emailed the seller with pics of the damage, so hopefully, he'll offer to help out with the repair costs.
Any suggestions?
I would have a body shop do that one. I would say it has to be repainted but that is just my 2 cents.
Did you file a claim with the shipper? How was it shipped?
Always pick a box that is larger on all sides than you need. Then pack as much soft/pliable things in on every side as you can. It appears to me that the edge of the spoiler was unpacked right on the edge of the box, one of the places it should have been packed/secured the most.

I'd get a quote on how much it will cost to fix, then make the seller pay for most of it. It isn't all his fault that it got broken during shipping, but one should assume that things WILL get tossed around and manhandled during shipping, so it is indeed his fault for not packing it better.
When I ship something, I personally feel that it's my reponsibility to make sure if damage is done in shipping, I can either offer a refund or repair reimbursement. If I feel the item is of value, then I'll insure it for MY peace of mind...if it's a low priced item, then I realize that if I don't insure it, then I may have to offer a full refund. I'm prepared to accept the costs or consequences when I make my shipping choices. However, it looks like eBay's point of view is that if I don't make sure it's insured, then it's my loss...I don't agree with that.
I've contacted the seller with pics of the damage, but I haven't heard back yet. Hopefully, he'll be a stand up guy and offer some sort of compensation. I paid with credit card through paypal, so I've got plenty of options to get my money back.
I'm hoping it is an easy fix with resin or something, but I'll take it around to some body shops this week and see what they have to say.

good luck with that one.
I haven't heard back from the seller yet on how he wants to proceed. I did talk to my credit card company though to make sure I have recourse and they assured me there's no problem with putting the charge in dispute even with the damage just being done in shipping.
I have several options IMO, so I just need to see what the seller wants to do...
