If your putting in a overlay there is absolutely no reason you cannot dremel it apart. I stated mine but abandoned it b/c I cracked the clear piece not paying attention. It did not crack due to my dremel though. No one will ever see the back side once the overlay is installed & you epoxy it all back together. Just be patient with it & take your time.
