Default shift **** fit

I have a momo combat evo shift **** that I want to install on my 96 ws6. Problem is that momo has 14mm threading and shifter has 16-16.5mm threading. I know a bunch of you have momo *****, how do you get them to fit?

Well, you have 3 options...

1) ream out the inside to slip-fit over your shifter handle... Be there done that before, works well if done right...

2) install a custom-made shifter rod...

3) get a proper tap and tap the inside of the shifter ****... My personal favorite, but it is a MAJOR PITA to do, so I don't recommend it...

I hope this helps...

Thank you, but what does ream mean exactly?

I assume it means to make the hole of the **** larger while not having any threads so its basically just "sitting" on the shifter itself.

Yep...

Momo includes some rubber 'caps' that sit on top of the shifter rod and then the shifter slips over that to keep things from rattling... Be sure to use those if you go this route as you will get some really nasty noises and some slop without them...

Thanks guys. Will the shift **** be tight on the shifter if done properly? Will it move around? I just want to know the best results to expect.

Yep, just make sure you ream it out just enough to allow the **** to slide over, then pick the right rubber cap and make sure it goes on snug (you don't want to jam it so much it rips the rubber cap), and then tighten the 3 screws for the base equally and centered and you are all set...
