I don't know if this would work but do you guys think you could buy some clear ones and try that duplicolor colored clear coat? I saw something on Truck Universe awhile back where they did the black clear coat on the tool box and stuff like that. Think it might be an interesting effect

I think it just depends on the car... my brother's car is pearl white and it looks MUCH better with clear side markers front and rear (clear 194style led bulbs that light up the correct color help alot) but on my car i kept the stock rear red ones and got some stock rear red ones off of a camaro for the front of mine... put in amber led bulbs... and they light up amber even though the red lens. Just go with whatever fits the theme of your car the best and draws LESS attention.

But I don't care. My car is so not legal here.

Well since this thread is really biased I will stand up for the stock ones, since only a couple have.
The stock corners look amazing IMO. The fact that I like the stock ones the best is because of the signature orange color that you see when coming up the road to another Camaro/Firebird. That orange color clearly distinguishes our cars from many other vehicles on the road. It is almost like our cars signature, the F-bodies were the first GM vehicles to have that orange signature glow. Why would you want to take its symbol of passion away and trade it for aftermarket corners? Corners that tend to leak and are supplied with poor quality bulbs that don't reflect the same orange the stock ones provide. I think that most of us really like the orange ones, however we are all so caught up in changing the appearance to our vehicles too much that we really don't think twice before purchasing aftermarket products. Next time I suggest to think twice and ask for opinions in person from a FBody enthusiast before altering the apperance of your vehicle, you may be suprised at what they honestly think will look good.

^ he's got a good point about the "orange glow". I love driving down the road and seeing another f-body from yards away because of the front corners. Although I have clears myself but I have some pretty strong ambers in precisely because I wanted to keep that stock glow.

Yeah after much deliberating, the stock orange side markers had to go. I bought the silverstars that are "clear" but shine amber when they are on. I wanted to avoid the "fried egg" look. Its like my car has a brand new smile now!
The weird thing about these silverstars is that they are clear or "iridescent blue" and give off a weird rainbow effect if you look close.
Ironically enough, the "orange glow" is even greater with these bulbs, especially at night...its hard to explain, its almost like the light is purer because its not being blocked by the orange reflector from the stockers.
