What's wrong with a Z28 with SS hood and spoiler? No need to rebadge it. If you do rebadge it, it's a matter of integrity not to sell it as an originally equipped SS car.

Myth. Not even close. They will not and have not gone after anyone on this issue.
actually 98 and some 99s ss's were not made by slp..

There is a collector about 3 blocks down from where I used work at that has a HUGE collection of old school Chevy SS's all. Not a single F-Body in his (actually his wifes) pack. Only one car has a single non-oem part (a fender, perfectly fixed though).

Besides each company having its own SS/RT/SVT is a cool idea. It shows a connection between their products.

Doubt there will be a RT or SRT (whatever they use) Sebring anytime soon though.
My bad dude. I thought you were being sarcastic. I think we're on the same page.

The HHR would've been cool if it had been bigger, like the size of a Trailblazer, with a standard engine like a 3800 V6 and a V8 option. I totally would've driven something like that for a DD.

I have an SS and I could care less if a z28 puts an SS badge on. When we line em up to race I'll smoke them because real SS's have 457rwhp hoods. Everyone knows that.

clone cars dont matter, all u SS owners should be happy so many people want there cars to be what yours is, it makes yours more special.

im all for it, its a late model camaro that all come with the same motor just the SS has a couple diff bolt ons, its not a rare 67-69 SS. not to metion theres 1000's of fake first gen SS's.

go for the look u want not what other people think.

Just a few points, mostly what has already been stated:

-If someone wants to look like an SS, they should have bought an SS.

-Say what you will, but if one didn't really wish that they had an SS and not a Z28, then they wouldn't make their car look like one. SS owners are not badging thier SS'es as Z28...even though they are Z28s. They can lie to themselves and others all they want, but it's clearly obvious: If someone was not happy with their car as it was, they would not have changed it. Why would someone change something that they liked/were happy with?

-Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. Run the SS hood and spoiler if you want, but badging it SS is pure fraud.

All of you "proud" SS owners can keep your pretty badges, I personally am proud of the heritage of the Z28, that it was in the first generation the true measure of camaro performance, and that while the SS was gone the Z28 has, as far as I know always been there, dusting mustangs daily. Oh and question...The stripes on our cars that run down the hood and rear deck are Z28 stripes, because it was standard on Z28 cars and for a while the only way to ID a Z. So are all the SS cars out there with stripes posers?

Try not to sound so jealous.

There is nothing really to be jealous of.

Whether is be Z28 or SS is still a v8 camaro no matter which way you cut it.

You can do a hood and spoiler, but don't do SS badges. IMO.

Sounds like another case of "Badge Envy" to me. The bottom line is, if the SS wasn't perceived as slightly "better" or "above" a Z28, no Z28 owner would consider changing the badges on their car.

No, simply becuase an SS is a Z28. Each and every SS clearly has the Z28 option code on the Service Parts Identification sticker.

Ya know, I remember having this argument in HS, except then it was Z28 vs IROC.
