Default Side molding removal Help! Trans Am

Ive removed the side molding and the glue stuff. (no blisters, I wore riding gloves) it all looks good but i got an outline of the moldings that i can't get off for nothing. I tried everything and a ton of elbow grease into it and it won't budge. my car is pewter. help. any ideas?

is it glue? I pulled off my side molding and found a nice outline too. It was clear coat and there isn't a way to get it off. I had to just put the molding back on till I can get the paint redone

If it's just glue then you can use goo gone or clay bar the area. It will come right off

Head to a paint supply store and as for PPG ACRLI-CLEAN DXX330 wax and grease remover. Worked great for me.

If it is a sticky type residue, it will usually come off with babyoil and a soft rag pretty easily, if that doesn't work you may have to get some type degreaser like 618Hawk said.

But it sounds like it may be paint related, either clear or uneven paint fade where no sun has his underneath the trim. If thats the case, consult your friendly neighborhood body man.

Might be time for a little CUT & BUFF, unless its down into the base coat.

I have a pewter car too and i think i know what your talking about. I used kit's scratch remover and it took it right out. I've had them off for almost a year and there are no signs of it coming back. It was in a little yellow tub.

I am kind of afraid to take mine off now; it looks much better off, but I do not want to have the outlines. What to do now?
