Camaro HID Projector Headlights
I am gonna start fabbing up 1 oe 2 sets to test, just seeing if anyone would be seriously interested in a set.
They will be stock headlights with retrofitted projectors and HID's. I haven't figured a cost until I get everything together but I'm looking at about $800 a set give or take a few hundred dollars...
I have 2 designs drawn up so far, one using HIDs for the low beam and halogen for the high and the other using bi-xenon projectors for both high and low beams and possibly putting something (don't know what, any ideas?) in place of where the old high beam went.
Im still looking for ideas from everyone though so if you have any input at all besides saying the price is too high I would love to hear it. Thanks in advance for the help guys!

I've PMed every person that has ever started one of these threads or participated in them that say they can do this since I registered here. So if you're really going to undertake this, I'm interested in a set. More interested if the projectors were in a pair of black Halo housings, but still very interested.
Do you have any ideas/plans for doing something about the foglights so they match?
Do you have a quality wiring harness/kit that would be included? Have you ever done a retrofit prior to the 'one or two sets to guage interest'? Post back pictures when you're done please.

If Im going to make them Im going to go all out and have HIDs with them. So yes the bulbs and ballasts would be included.
Never done headlights but I have done a few sets of LED tail lights so I pretty much know what to expect. I have everything ordered so far except the headlights, not sure which type (stock or halo) I am going to start with.
The first set will be just projectors with the low beam and stock lights for the high beam, I still working out the details of everything though so that may or may not change.

I'd be interested, but I'd like to see what the final product looks like. Ive seen damn near everything you've done for LED tails and some of the other projects and it looks sweet. So I can imagine that this will be just the same

all i can tell you is putting them into the halos are not easy. The reason is the placement of the halo ring. It is too close to the "wall" of the low beam. It involves cutting the side out, mounting it so the beam is straight, and then constructing a new housing for the light. I am getting closer to a prototype. I should have some serious progress by next weekend. Unfortunatly it takes time around work. I'll keep people updated.

Nathan, good luck. I'll tell you one thing, if you can get it to work they'll sell like hot cakes. You're on the right track with using projectors. That's the only REAL way to make a true HID setup that looks good. I laugh at some of the people that buy these $300 ebay kits and slap them in there. Sure they're BRIGHT and the the color looks good but without a projector there is absolutely no beam control and the light pattern sucks ***. You're left with a bright light that is potentially dangerous for other drivers.
Good luck, if the timing and price is right I'd consider a set. I think if you can pull it off and keep the cost reasonable you'll see a lot of sales.

yes, i have almost finished molding some plastic. I am going to work on it some more this week. I will post some pictures this weekend if i am making some good progress.
BTW putting them into stock housings is real easy. That could be done for not much more then the cost of the HID completle units.
