lol nice. im still a bit nervous. my car sees a lot of sunlight. altho its only a 2000.

 

The problem I had was the fact that my car was re-sprayed by the previous owner and the shop didn't take off the moldings to do it. So I had some noticeable clear buildup.

 

Pulled mine off and everything was fine. Not bad for a 10 year old car I'd say.

 

yeah, i pulled mine off and some of my ******* clear coat came off with it !

 

i pulled my drivers side off a couple months ago, i think that was a bad idea in the middle of winter, the molding came off fine but it left the double sided tape, weird enough my cars quarterpanels had been repainted and i had no paint lines or anything. After what seemed like hours off rubbing and blisters on both thumbs i finally got that side off and it looks great, however i left the passenger side on until i can get a nice warm day to heat it up and make it easier to peel lol

The rear quarter on my TA had been recleared and left a small raised edge around where the molding was. It is very hard to see and gets better with polishing. Only problem I had.

 

Anyone got any pictures of trans ams with the side molding removed? I'm thinking about it but not too sure how it'll look.

 

I haven't done it, but Dental Floss would be better than Fishing Line--much softer and will not scratch anything and is extremely strong.

Had no problems, car is a 2000 with about 63K on it when I did the !moldings.

Not that I'm aware of. Paint looks stock. Had the use the buffer to get the glue, etc. off of there. I just didn't feel like blistering up my thumbs

no problems at all, well worth it!

 

Dont worry about the discoloration. I did mine anout 8 months ago and mine has been out in the elements its whole life(Im a college student) and there was no discoloration.

 

No problems here, because it came that way from the factory. It's a good thing I ordered the 1SC package.
