Actually here's a quick picture of his Z28. It's a '96 that he's converted to an LS1 style front end. It's going to paint next week so I should have the final pictures before to long.
If you look at the side skirts just in front of the rear wheels you can see they're cutout for the polished Z28 tips that he's going to have installed.

is his name grant? i think i remember that car from cardomain.com...he and i exchanged a few messages on there. very nice car too, hes done a lot of original, but tasteful stuff like that. i believe thats the same car.

Yes his name is Grant, he's a great guy with a lot of great ideas.
I actually made him an admin on my forum.

Gotta admit I like where he is going with this car, very clean and not overdone.

I believe in CA this is illegal and won't pass smog. The exhaust must exit behind the axle and not underneath the car. If I could, I would just add a dump before the axle! I remember somebody had this side-exit on an LT1, a long time ago on this site though. I'll see if I saved a picture of it on my other computer...

For so many car modifications to be illegal in Cali, I never could figure out why it became the car modifying capital.

haha, me neither. Only thing I can say is that A LOT of people "know a guy" I used to, but he kept asking for more and more $$$ every other year. That's when I went "legit"

Grant said he was able to find a way that he can do it and stay legal but it meant spending a lot of money. That's all he'd say because I'm sure he want's this mod to stay unique.

I heard of the side exit thing being illegal here too, there has to be a loophole because of the viper guys around here doing it on a production car.

This guy must have ran it all the way down the stock side, over the axle, towards the drivers side, through a muffler, and out the side....

I seen a 2000 Model Trans Am with the Nascar style side pipes on it at a car show. It looked good untill you seen up under the car and seen how far the pipes hung under the car. Sorry didn't snap a pic of it. My friend has side pipes on his 89 Camaro, 3rd gens can make them work a lot easier than 4th I think.

you can barely see the tips exit right in front of the pass side tire. They were ovalized by me. two out one side. H pipe.

As for the sound.....With a tsp 231/237...it sounded like it was going to wheelie through your house and kill your entire family while they were eating dinner then wheelie out the other side.

A buddy of mine is trying to get his worked out right now. He is going to do something liek the viper where it is molded in the body right infront of the rear tire. He been drawing out some sketches and from what I've seen its gonna look badass.
