How much do bodyshops usually charge for the manta..? I saw a website selling the manta decal for $100 but i was thinking of just getting the scoop painted any inputs..?

Also post pics of painted hood scoop or a manta decal.

I think its something like $300 to have it painted. I would just get the decal from 3rdgendecals.com and call it a day. They look the same.

I had mine painted for $50 dollars. They cut me a deal since they messed my decal up trying to put it on! Think it was going to be around $150 if I had it painted outright.

I just bought an ss hood and the shop said they would paint the whole hood for $200.00. I asked him how much extra to do the manta detail black and he said he wouldn't charge me extra for it. Sounds like a fair price to me. But you just want the manta painted right/not the whole hood?

It can be cheap or it can be expensive. You gotta go in expecting to pay some money for the whole hood to be painted. Reason for that is when I had my Hugger SS painted, we got the manta sprayed on there, then when we went to clear the hood. All the chips in the hood caused little bubbles and the whole thing had to be sanded down and redone. If your car has chips in the hood, might as well get a price to get the whole thing painted. It will look alot better anyways.

Pics in sig, or go to my cardomain page.

Have it painted. So much easier to take care of and keep looking good, plus it's just better.

Yeah just the manta not the whole hood. That's a pretty good deal $200 for the hood.

Anyone have close up of painted ones? Did they paint the pinstripe too, or just use tape pinstripe? Seems you could have the Manta done in acrylic enamel, and then you wouldn't have to clear it.

I tried the decal route the decal looked like crap I kept it on for 6 months to make sure I liked the look I did so I spent $150 to have it painted glossy black.
