Did you see a pic with it looking like chrome? It was probably polished. Polishing it will give up almost the same effect. You might be able to chrome it, but that would be a pain and expensive.

I would also like to know if it could be chromed...isn't there a dessicant (sp?) pack inside that collects moisture?...I would think this would prohibit the chrome dipping process...

Definately polish it. It will look just as good, and you can do it yourself.

Do you guys take the condenser completely off? Everytime I look at that thing and the hoses, I think Im going to either make a big mess or ruin something, so I tried polishing it in place.

Of course I didnt get the finish Id like, so Id like to know what you guys are doing or what grits of paper your using and then too what?

Thanks for your time.

If I chrome the condensor/canister, whatever you call it, will the mositure that it creates mess up the chrome or chroming process?

The condenser is the radiator looking thing in front of your coolant radiator. It can't be chromed.

The canister/dryer can be chromed, but high quality polishing will make it like chrome.

Yea, I've heard people call it the canister and I've heard people call it the condensor. Yea, I don't want the condensor in front of the radiator chromed, but rather the canister/dryer. I do know that when I turn on the AC that the canister gets mositure on it. Will it still do that once it's chromed?

Wet sand (use a spray bottle filled water and about a teaspoon of dawn) the canister starting with 400 grit paper, move to 800, then 1000, followed by 1500. Use mothers billet polish after this with a dremel tool. It really shines it up. Here are a few pictures of mine.

I'd still polish it. Cheaper. It'll cost $10 in supplies and one day of your time.

Even if the canister is chromed it will still "sweat" with the ac on. Physics.

Yes, but the ac will discharge when unbolt the canister. You can go to town, but plug the ends with tape, you can't let a single grain of dirt in or it's trash.

After it's blinged out you'll have to get the ac recharged.
