Question Firebird Taillights Question

Will '98+ honeycomb taillights directly bolt on to a '94 Firebird? If so, is there any difference in wiring? Will I need some adaptor piece? I've seen it done before, so I know it's possible...

wow! really? it's just a direct-fit replacement? no drilling/cutting? no soldering/snipping of any wires? that's amazing! are you guys sure about this? by the way, it's not for my car... it's for my cousin's '94 firebird (V6). that won't make a difference, will it?

They actually are held on the car by six big plastic wingnuts (three on each light). It's a piece of cake to remove and install them

The '93-'97 tail lights are around $245.00-$295.00 each. The '98+ tail lights are around $175.00 each.

Yea. It's BS isn't it? When I first saw the price, I was like WHOA! EBay has a few listed for about $50.00-$75.00 cheaper. That's still expensive though, in my opinion.

Makes you sick to think they can charge that much for some pieces of plastic and glue...

but listen!!! Watch the stripping when u remove the oem tails, and when installing the new honeys... cuz water can get in the damn honeys and fog up the lens inside...it haappnd to me...lol. Inspect ur honeys as well, check for small cracks or defects in the seal around the lens..just a word of advice which I should have taken in the past

Ok thanks a lot for the advice! Any help is great appeciated! Maybe I can make a gasket or something just in case. I'll make sure the seals are in good condition IF my cousin gets a pair. I didn't even think about checking the seals. Thanks again!

You can buy used honey combs all day for $100, a non sponser site has them. I've never seen the LT1 lights go for that much, even for a pair.

The reason most LT1 lights for Trans Ams cost more from salvage / junk type lots is that they usually base their prices not on demand, but on the factory cost cut in half or close. Usually one salvage yard isn't going to have enough experience with each little part on each type of car to know how to price them any way besides using the factory replacement cost. If you can get them for anything less than half the OE cost mentioned above you're getting a great deal.
