Default Blackouts?

Who sells the blackouts for a Trans Am? Have been looking around but I guess I haven't been looking too much because I can't find them anywhere. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

A search should have yielded an answer to your question, but since I'm already here...

If you're talking about taillight blackouts, you can get them from your local AutoZone. They probably won't be in stock, but you can order them and have them delivered to the store at no cost to you. They cost $36.99 and are made by AutoVentShades.

Some people on this board (not me) advise against blackout covers as they may trap heat and melt your taillights. If you would like to tint your stock taillights, you can get VHT Niteshades from www.afterthoughtsauto.com, a site sponsor.

If you're talking about Fog Light & DRL blackouts, there have been some sold on eBay. I have heard that these are cheaply made and melt easily.

get nightshade. but i think thats a lil $$$. I went to a hobby shop and for $5 a can bought the tint for the bodies on RC Cars. Worked beautifully. Just be sure to put a layer of clearcoat on it or itll get really messed up...fast.

I heard that the AVS and likewise blackout covers cause condensation to build up in the lights. and have a tendency to fall off.

They have a tendency to fall off because they are held on by velcro. I still have my avs blackouts. I don't know what I'm going to do with them yet.

AVS AutoVentShade.com But they don't list them anymore.
Blackouts have history of melting the Camaro taillights, but I have not seen any history of the problem with the Firebirds.

AutoVentShade TailShade Blackouts for the 93-02 Pontiac Firebird, Part #33041
Available from most local parts stores, ..., for about $38-48 bucks, ...

I've heard that AVS covers on Camaros are held on with velcro, but the ones for my Firebird snap on. Theres a thick piece of rubber across the bottom edge and the top is rounded to hold the top of the light housing. They haven't fallen off yet. I've even run a couple of Autocross events with them, still no problems.

The firebird ones are held with velcro also, those are the ones that I have. I was gonna use them for my old T/A but had only tried them on one time.

Got mine from Summit Racing - the firebird shades snap on with rubber edge on bottom that tucks in along between bottom of light housing and rear fascia, then snap over the top of the light housing. Never saw firebird version from AutoVent Shade that use velcro - might be an older version.

I've had mine on constantly - never remove them for over 2 years now with no problems. They have withstood MANY runs at over 140mph without falling off
