So what has your F-body been mistaken for?

I was sitting at home with some buddies, and one of my friends little brothers keeps talking about this accord his is gonna buy thats gonna hav 300hp and I told him thats not alot and he laughed at me. So I let him keep talking and I step inside, grab my keys of the key rack, open the garage, jump in the 69, and start her up. And he freaks when he hears that big ole loppy cam and he turns and im like this thing has more than 300hp and its slow. Then he saw where the rear leef springs stick out of the back a little and he was like oh man are those wheelie bars. I said No and laughed.
So I guess you could say it got mistaken for a Dragster.
It also gets mistaken for a charger and other various old muscle cars.

Alright before i put my 2 cents in, please dont follow the import trend. Your car is a camaro or firebird, the package SS or WS6 Or TRANS AM is added but nonetheless your car is a camaro or firebird. I hate talking to SRT-4 guys saying something about a neon and next thing you know they are like its not a neon its a SRT-4. Please dont start following those AssClowns. I have a Z28 and yes its a camaro. Anyway back to the point Ive had people tell me WOW nice SS. I look at them and go no its a Z28 see the badges right there by the door. But thats it havent had it called anything else yet.

Yea, I hate when people call my Trans Am a Firebird. I hate how the firebirds look. The all just look like a V6. I don't like the front, rear, or sides. Only the things that belong on the TA and firebirds I like. Tail lights, doors, fenders, interior.

When I mention to the ladies I have a Trans Am they never seem impressed. But then when they see it they are always like "I didn't know you had a Camaro, I thought you said you had a Grand Am.". I Just blow it off because obviously they don't know any better. But 99% of the time when mistaken it is called a camaro. And just once a ricer at a show told me I had the coolest Probe he had ever seen.

Some lady and her kids asked to take pictures of my "Ferrari" before. That kinda caught me off gaurd. I was in a REAL small town in northern NH though. I was like yeah, take a couple pics. It's a Trans Am made by Pontiac though! Regardless the kids thought it was cool.
People call it a Camaro all the time, Batmobile is a pretty popular one too.
All my buddies just call it a shitbox LOL.

Back in June of 2001, my car got mistaken for a "Silver Camaro". Someone had backed into my car at our local meat market while I was inside shopping, and they were nice enough to come inside and find who owned the car. One of the employees began walking around the store asking for who owned the silver Camaro. Immediately I assumed the worse....but in the end it was fixed without any trouble. That was the first and so far the last time it's ever been mistaken for a Camaro.

Today was the first time I've driven it since mid-November of last year. As soon as I pull up the guard shack at work this morning, I can tell the security guard is going to say something. Sure enough I waived my badge and he says with a big grin, "Hey that's a nice Corvette you got there....I really like that". I responded with "Hey, thank you buddy" since I was running late. I couldn't spare the extra time to politely correct him

I hate hate hate when people call my car a firebird, even though thats technically what it is...

I also don't like it when people call my car a firebird. Granted it's just some cosmetic differences (which is why I like the T/A better to begin with) but it's still annoying. My Dad has called it the Batmobile and I've heard Camaro too. It was also annoying when people would ask if it's a ram air (back when I had the stock hood) thinking that ram air was so much better than a non-ram air T/A.

Honestly I don't understand how people can think these cars are ferrari's or anything other than what they are for that matter...especially the trans am's...i mean c'mon it says PONTIAC right on the car...and it says TRANS AM right on the car too...unless it is debadged, but are people really to stupid to read what it says right on the car?
I havent had mine mistaken for anything yet...just the nice trans am...they walk around the back and say...Oh, it's not a WS6, and just walk away. I even had a fellow Trans Am WS6 owner say the same thing to me...What is with people???

I've been confused for a "Ram Air" sometimes. Gets on my ******* nerves. For one it's called a WS6, and two, somehow being a WS6 makes it 1000x better than my car.
Some douche was looking DIRECTLY at the front of my car, "Hey man, is that a 'Ram Air'?"
I figured the stupid *** question needed a stupid *** answer, so I said, "Yes"

Some guy in a 30th anniversary Z28 at the gas station said, "Wow an SS, is that the twin turbo?" I politely explained it to him and then asked,"That's an Lt1 right?" He said I dunno. Whatever it came with. At least he called it an SS. I have heard Mustang before.
