Another unique part of my car are my old school 1st Gen Emblems. I have also color-matched them to my brake's colors....and this color scheme is carried out through the entire car.

I would have to say my most unique mods would be my intake and ducting, but there are a couple other little ones i think are unique too.

Then there is my first gen PMD center caps.

And the first Gen 455 emblem.

WTF intake is that. It looks like it belongs on the Enterprise. Don't take that bad, I absolutely love it. How does it perform? Is it custom? Just plain cool!

It is a Harrop intake.

It is not custom, but you do not see them installed and running under the hoods of many, if any other 4th Gens. GTO's and Vette's there are several out there.

It is still not totally living up to my expectations, but we have a few more tricks up our sleeves and will see the results in a month or so.

Well yeah, it looks like they are worth as much as the car itself would cost! Sweet setup. I am all kinds of jealous! It looks awesome, and from the brief reading I have done, it sounds like it actually is indeed, AWESOME.

Could you elaborate a little? I've heard the Harrop is bar none the best especially for bigger motors and I've been considering one.

what he said. not that my heads/cam is even border-lining on needing that, but i think its the coolest lsx intake (that didnt create boost) that ive seen.

Not to go way off topic, but the Harrop really chokes the air to the motor. Mine is an unported 55mm version. It killed my heads by 35cfm on the flow bench, 1 cfm is worth 2.2hp if your motor wants the air. It is getting ported this winter to gain as much as possible back. I also think my heads were not as promised (they are a sponsor so I will not go into detail, they did offer to look at them, but I had the motor together and did not want to ship them back to the US from Canada) I think I am missing 50-70 hp.

I built the motor myself, so I have no builder to rag on.

Anyway I will leave it there for now.

I do love the look of the intake and the smooth idle, even with a big cam.

Hmm...Thats interesting. I saw a big cube NA motor with that intake that was making over 800hp without any problems. I really don't see how it could be choking it when you have 8 55mm throttlebodies instead of at the most 1 102mm. I'm assuming it would be much worse and you would have lost alot more than 35cfm with another intake?

I am telling you what I personally saw on a flow bench and on a dyno. Not some hearsay on the net. I do believe that the heads are responsible for part of my issue. The intake was on the bench last weekend and flowed 278 cfm at WOT unported. Wonder all you want but that is what it did unported. I admit I thought the same thing as you. I will get it flowing with some porting and mods. I have seen these make power as well, but after investigation they are not unported or port matched. My ports were misaligned almost .100".

I think this is why you do not see many of these around. If they worked that well, then all the hardcore guys would have them. Not that I plan on changing mine. It passed emissions with a huge cam. A FAST would never do that.
