Here's my most unique mod, completed in 2009 - front license plate delete.

I fabricated a 'stud' bracket, using aluminum bar, SS hardware & double sided trim tape, to mount the SLP front license plate bracket.

I drilled two holes in the front fascia and assembled the 'stud' bracket to the inside of the fascia using the double sided tape.

The SLP bracket is attached using SS wingnuts.

The front license plate can now be easily removed when not needed.

The Camaro looks much better without the front plate.

thats a cool idea.. what about putting nuts on the backing plate and using screws from the bottom, that way you dont see **** when the plate is off, instead of the two studs... not knocking your mod at all... i will make one for my ta but do it just a little different.

i just got a damn fix it ticket for having no front plate. the officer was just being an ***. only problme is, i didnt even get a second plate from the original owner, so i have to go through the trouble of ordering another plate and all, and then putting it on so i can get an officer to sign off on it.... all so i can pull it right back off, cause i dont do front plates

you know you dont have to order a new plate, you can go to a dealer lot and get a cardboard one from the and put it on behind a plastic shield> it worked for me

nice I've been swapping my plate on and off for inspection since I bought it in '04...except I didn't drill any holes in my bumper!! and your bracket is allot nicer than mine, I did it pretty it pretty much the same just cheesier since its only ever on for 10mins a year. instead of nuts and bolts I just use 3M double sided mounting tape(the thicker foam stuff) and stick it on the underside of my nose like where you did

The laws in TX and CA are different. I don't remember CA dealerships having temp plates when I was there. From what I remember, cars (used and new) were sold without plates, just a sticker on the windshield. I remember seeing plenty of cars with no plates at all. Then again, this was southern CA.

I shaved the textured letters smooth and polished the lenses, and covered them with gloss black vinyl. Paint is a good option as well.
