Default smoothed and painted dash

I am going to smooth out and paint a couple of dashes. Is anyone else interested in one of these. The first one is going to be black.

Also, has anyone smoothed and painted the upper dash. I know the glare would be bad.

I'm smoothing and painting everythign in my interior except for the dash. My interior is currently graphite but I'm changing it to ebony. Already have the carpet ordered, still trying to find ebony T/A seats (if not then just going with Corbuea or something like that), ABS Plastic headliner (getting wrapped in Carbon Fiber, hopefully the red/black if i can find any). My very front piece of the dash is cracked so I'm going to order a ebony piece for that, and just use some dye for the rest of the dash. It won't match perfect but I won't have glare!

Talk to xxxtransamxxx he has smoothed and painted his entire interior. I am not for sure about total time for all of it, but I think he had something like 50 hours in the complete dash.

The glare wouldn't be bad, it would be suicidal to try and drive with. Please don't do it unless you're a dedicated show car enthusiast. I put Lexol on my dash and that gave off a really bad glare, enough to definately be dangerous.

Werd, I wish that I would've realized how popular this mod was. I've been working on smoothing mine for the past month in my spare time (thank god for having a DD), now that i see so many people doing it it's ruined the whole uniqueness of doing it.

Did you put Lexol on the whole dash, including the horizontal panel that has the defrost vent that fits between the windshield and the A-pillars? I'm thinking that if one were to smooth JUST the front of the dash, but leave the defrost vent panel with a grain finish along with maybe adding a tint band across the top of the windshield, it would help out with glare alot. Seems like with things set up that way, sunlight would have to be coming in from a pretty steep angle to cast glare so it would probably only be bad during certain hours of the day.
