I've got a extra washer fluid reservoir and the painter is having a hard time with it. I just wanted to see if anyone had done it and had much success at it. If this painter can't do it, I'll take it to another one I know.

it might be his primer. some car painters are not experienced with painting things such as plastic. a good sanding, then something like the krylon paint might be ur best bet

I don't know why a "painter" is having problems with such a piece, is he new to the autobody world? I painted all the plastic pieces of the interior with automotive basecoat/clearcoat.....
All I did was clean in warm soapy water, sand 80, 180, 220, and 400, hit it with some high build, then 220, 320, 400, 600, then base and cleared...I did't have to use an adheasion promoter, or anything....I would look into another painter if he can't get it to lay on it, because you say it's corse, if anything a rougher surface would help over a ultra smooth for primer for a new painter lol....
