Default triple gauge pillar pod

Okay now this may be a stupid question but here goes, I bought a triple gauge pillar pod off someone here a few months ago and I just got back in the states and noticed that it isn't a direct replacement for my current pillar panel. This pillar pod panel doesn't go all the way up where the side of the t-top is (where the stock panel screws into the body) and there isn't plastic on the left side of it closesest to the window like it does on the factory one.

This is what mine looks like:

This is going on my 2002 trans am (with T-tops). Is this supposed to screw to the original pillar panel or did I get one that wasn't meant for t-tops or something?

The one's I have seen actually use parts of your stock pillar. You have to cut off the bottom portion of yor stock pillar near where it attaches at the windshield side and glue it to the AM pillar. I know I bought one of these a long time ago thinking it was a direct replacement for the stocker. I was surprised to see all the mickey mouse **** you have to do to make it work. I did all the cutting/glueing and afterward didn't like the way it looked at all. I sold it and bought the dual pillar pod which just attaches to your stocker anywhere you like along it's length without any cutting off of parts and glueing.

Hard to tell from the angle of your pic but it appears that some of the pod is missing at the bottom where it typically glues to the cut off piece of your stocker as described above. Check out the pic below and you can see there is part of the bottom section as on your stocker (especially around the side window vent):

P/N from AM site is #12213 - there is another which is P/N 12203 which lists same description but for 82-92' cars but it doesn't show a pic. Maybe you got this version by mistake?

The one Jay posted is the one I have, & it mounts over the top of the existing one with plastic rivets.

I used velcro tape to hold mine in place. Seems to be working OK.

well mine has holes in it along the sides so i guess it is supposed to be screwed into the original panel. That is stupid why not just make a direct replacement, its only a little more plastic. Plus you have to put holes or cut your original so you cant just take it out and put the stock one back in, so stupid. Well thanks guys for your help!
