Default Body filler... which one is best?

I need a body filler.. not the cheap stuff from autozone.. i need a quality body filler for a project i am working on.

I tried a search, but nothing is coming up for what i am looking for..

Anyone recommend a brand? where to get it?

Thanks

Bondo is the universal filler, its the cheap stuff at autozone but its decent. there may be alternatives but that works pretty decent.

Definatly bondo, its not "cheap" Ive heard alot of bondo drying to almost a concrete state (being very difficult to sand) I got mine at NAPA ( Napa is much better than autozone ) its easy to sand and easy to work with.

Btw, bondo has a newer version called bondo ultimate. Ive only used this and was fairly impressed with it. Supposed to sand better and require less work. Try to get that if you can.

The stuff that we use in my auto body class at CSI is called Z Grip. it is a light weight filler that if you and in the green state it is not that are to take off. We get the form of the filler with 36 grit, then apply more filler and get contour with 40 grit and at the end use a Glazing filler with 80 grit to make the sand scratches come out. That filler can be found at any automotive paint store. I hope this helps.

I do bodywork for a living and have tried damn near all of them, IMO the Zgrip is my favorite. The Zgrip sands very nice and you can form it before it completely cures without plugging up the sand paper "unlike others" cutting your work time in half.

I have never used a Bondo brand body filler that I liked at all.

Zgrip is about the best bang for the buck but if you want to really waste money and use good stuff Rage Xtreme but yah i wouldnt really buy that if your only doing 1 project if your doing a few things then yah its probably good

Here at the body shop we use Rage Xtreme also, but every shop has a different opinion on what is best. The z grip and rage are both quality products that you can't go wrong with.
