Simply Green sucks if you have brightwork. It will turn the metal into a white blotchy pile when you're done. Good for degreasing, but NOT for show engines. 
If you want real bling you'll need to sand, unless the suface is glass smooth, you won't get the results that are worth the time.

I have a rotory tool (hi-speed plug in) you can use...just ask that you replace any sanding drums and polishing tips you use (kit is $9 at the PX).
