!molding and paint.

ok, so, i decided to remove the molding off the Trans Am. Really like the look, only problem is, it would appear the pass. door and rear fender have been repainted. but only the clear coat is missing. meaning the side is clear coated everywhere except where the molding was.

So the question is, would it be alright to tape off the rest of the car, and clear coat just those two parts? I'm pretty sure it'd involve sanding and what not.

any ideas?

yes hypotheticly you could, but youd need to do a lot of prep the make it smooth and get it proffessionally painted

so doing a home job is a no go?

edit: if i took it to a paint shop and had them redo just those two panels, would it still match the rest of the car? some how i don't think it would, but just thought i'd ask.

My car has also been repainted on one side and I would like to remove the side molding but I didn't risk it for the same reason sorry to hear that hopefully you get it fixed.
