I saw an 05 GT just like that too, looked good.

Don't think it would look good on an F-Bod though.

I had one on my 3rd gen Camaro and I loved it. It cut down on heat from the blazing sun here in Florida and it didn't look half bad. However, it was aluminum (really thin slats) rather than the fat plastic ones like they sell now and it was black on a black car. I saw one on a 4th gen T/A just last week and it didn't look quite as bad as I thought it would from pictures I've seen before. Again, it was black on black so it didn't stand out too much.

I wouldn't even consider putting one on a 4th gen that was anything but black (they still look like hell even if you paint to match) but I might give it some thought for a black car...probably still wouldn't do it but I'd give it some thought.

Louvers look like *** on 4th gens. I don't even like them on 3rd gens. Some 2nd gens they look OK but not that great. They were out there before window tinting became inexpensive and popular. They kill the lines of the vehicle. BTW..what's wrong with hood louvers? The 2nd pic of louvers that was posted was FACTORY from Ford on that 33 or 34 car. The other 2 pics are custom. I love louvers when done tastefully on the right vehicles.

I wish there was a way they looked good on 4th gens. I always liked them on the 2nd and 3rd's. Maybe I'm classic or.............maybe I'm secretly wearing a mullet.........muhahahaha

unless you get a custom hood with heat extractors, don't do it. The rear window louvers look too iroc-y and you would have trouble seeing, especially if you have limo tint in back like me.

It's a good question, when i saw the thread, i thought QUARTER PANEL louvers, gills, fins, etc. Lets leave those for the ricers

I've been thinking a lot about hood louvers lot. I think they can look real good if done right. Here's a few Photoshops I did. Just ignore the nose, I was experimenting.

I'm not that thrilled with the center mounted ones, but the side ones are nice in my opinion. The only hard part is custom making them. They would need to match the angles of the hood. Any opinions?

Those look very good! Specially the side ones!! How you do that with Photoshop...got some nice skills there BTW!

Window louvers are very hard to pull off looking right in 4th gens due to the sleek nature of their design. 3rd gens were more boxier and looked better but not in all of them. If you find a way of making then look good go for it, forget all the opinions here...its you car after all! In new Mustangs they look good due to the retro design on them, IMO.

Hood louvers and rear window louvers are really two different things. It may not be fair to group them together.

Anyway, here is another picture I found of the rear window cover. I don't like it, but whatever.

BTW, there are more types of louvers than the old hot rod style of punched metal.
Check these out.
