Mine has the exact same problem, I've been meaning to post it, but i keep forgeting. I don't know why it does it. But it really looks bad up close... Does anyone know why its doing this, the paint isn't bubbling, its just the clear coat.

Ditto, I assume it's the same problem others are having on the sail panel. The are a LOT of posts about this bubbling problem and it seems to stem from the glue that is used to secure the roof skin. It releases gases and bubbles up through the paint.

There are ALOT of post about this problem. Welcome to the club. If you do a search for roof buubles or sail panel recall, you should get some info. Mine are getting worse, but they didn't show until late. Some have had it fixed for free, some have had to pay half and some have been told "Its not covered". Kind of a crap shoot whether the dealer will fix it or not. Mine is out of warrenty, plus 7 years old so I'm on my own. Good Luck

Correct. I'm at work and don't have the tsb number here, but can get it tomorrow if no one else post it.

Mine too. When you see the top without the roof panel you can see where it came from.

I have a 99 Formula hardtop that has snake bubbles. If I take the TSB to the dealer will they fix it for free or do I have to pay?

Good luck everyone I got mine replaced from a dealership 60 miles away (I have three nearby who refused to do it). The GM 800 number helps a little.

I had the same problem. I took the SB to the dealer and he was very cool about it. They fixed it right up for me over 1 year ago. My only problem was the damn body shop there sucked at painting/polishing. It kept glazing over after a week or so and I had to go back 3 times to get it buffed again. Its been good for a while now.

What's weird is that I was the only person who has reported the problem and brought the SB to the dealer by then. This is a large KC dealer, so that was strange.

Depends on the dealership. First place I went to said I'd have to pay. The second place, 10 miles down the road and owned by the same guy who owns the first one, fixed it for free.

Exactly! My car has the same thing going down the roof, but there is a big dot at the end, so at night when cool air condenses on the roof, it looks like there is a huge question mark on it.
