Good wheel cleaner well i have brake dust that doesnt want to come off one of my front wheels, got some of it off with spray on turtle wax wheel cleaner but didnt get it all and i am wondering what is a good product you all use to clean chrome or polished wheels that have brake dust on them that doesnt seem to want to come off.
Ive always used a diluted solution of Simple Green and never had a problem.
There's some other stuff called Orange Blast or something like that I got from Wally World that says its safe to use on chrome wheels too. You use a 1:20 or 1:50 solution, I cant remember offhand.
Ive used it on house hold stuff before, and its worked good. Figured it was cheaper than SG so I'd give it a try.

yeah i need something that is strong and will eat through this crap and wont hurt the rims, they are the stock chrome or polished rims. damn winter didnt let me clean them every weekend like i usually do.
Read the label on the degreasers they have in the automotive sections. Some will say its safe to use in diluted solutions on chrome/polished aluminum, others say do not use on chrome, aluminum etc.

Eagle One AtoZ wheel cleaner and a wash mitt have gotten all the crud off all my wheels in the several years I've been using it. Safe for all wheel types and finishes.
Turtle Wax Chrome Polish took off that stubborn brake dust that didn't come off with the regular soap and water. You can pick some up at Pep Boys. Your wheels look great afterwards too, no need to wipe them down again. I never use any type of chemical on chrome wheels, it isn't worth risking the finish on them(espeically the fragile finish on cheap aftermarket rims). I usually just wax the wheels when I wax the car, regular old wax also makes them pop.

yeah that blue magic stuff i think was what i had, it was a blue paste that you rubbed on the wheel until it turned black ish then you wiped it off, that stuff worked great but my step dad used it all. He has some mother chrome polish out there is that just as good?

yeah i tried my stepdads mothers chrome and polished wheels polish and it took the stuff right off, didnt even take that long just put some muscle into it and the brake dust came right off.
