Default Cover for turn signal stalk?

Just noticed my 2000 trans am turn signal stalk is very open and shows the wires. I bought it used and it probably came this way. Shouldn't there be some kind of rubber cover for it? (My other cars have something like that)

But maybe I'm going crazy!

I bought my Formula new and the gaping hole doesnt have a cover either. I do have some vinyl laying around and thought about making a boot.

Ah ha, GM engineering is to blame. As long as it doesn't rain with the t-tops off, I should be fine. :-) Thanks for the info!

If you notice, its like the same stalk as most GM cars between probably the late 80's and the last f-body in 02. My 92 Camaro had nearly the same piece.

That makes it easy to find parts for GM cars, unlike Ford who changes everything every 2 years. ;-)
