Tinting my windshield.

35% is definitely the darkest I'd go on the windshield. Usually the next one up is 50%. The only problem with 35% on the windshield is on really dark backcountry roads. Otherwise you should be ok if you pay attention to where you're going; which I imagine you do anyway. Either 35 or 50 will look badass on your car. Post some pics up if/when you do it.

I had 35% on the windshield of my old truck, 5% everywhere else. I loved it, took a little getting used to but it absolutely wasn't unsafe at all, even on unlit back roads. I say go for it.

Even if it does reduce your visibility on back roads a little, its still unsafe. One day you'll be doing 60mph down dark backroad. You don't see that deer in time and you plow right into him. If your damn windshield wasn't tinted, you would have seen him a 100' sooner and stopped in time.

im plannin on doin the windshield tint mod too, thinking of going 35 or 50, and that's exactly why cars look bad *** on tv, even if it is a cobalt or something, in my 96 DD firebird i got 20's all around and when i drive at night it;s easier on the eyes when looking through the sides, . i think cuz the bright lights make my eyes squint and with it being tinted, my eyes feel relaxed, . . same during the day of course, . . . i had this "X-Treme Limo" tint i got from autozone and it was 2.5% (no joke) and on sunny days i could almost stare into the sun, . . . . go for it, . . and don't listen to these morons, . . they are jus plain ignorant retards

My first mod to my previous and current cars have always been window tinting including the front windshield's. And in no way does it reduce visibilty by 100', if you hit something it won't be because the tint but because of ignorance (not paying attention). I'll keep doing as long as tint and window's are around. To be honest the windshield tint helped out on a previous car sell, I had it done to my Lexus and the buyer loved it.

I have mine done, 35% on the front windshield and 20% on the other windows. Its not bad at all, I love it at night. The headlights of other cars isnt blinding anymore, I have no visibility issues. It looks darker on the outside then what it is on the inside. I would highly recommend it. Go for it..
BTW- $180 for three windows isnt a deal. You better make sure he stays with that $50 on the front windshield, its a bitch so he may want to raise the price. Mine was cut all freehand even the spot around the mirror.

I have seen a lot of cars with mirror image on there front windshield were you can't see in and I think that looks good and it will help on the visual impairment part as well because the wieldshield isn't that dark and it will also reflect the lights of other cars.

After reading all of this, I'm thinking of doing the mod. For those that have done this I have a few questions:
1. Do you still have a darker strip at the top of the windshield?
2. What about the Inspection/Registration stickers, in Texas they must be on the
inside of the windshield, and to remove them you must use a razor blade.

Yes, registration and city stickers will have to be stuck on using tape to eliminate using a razor blade. A simple peel off and some Acetone will do the trick. The thread was started in April, but it's definitely a constant appearance question. The only thing that worried me is the liability purposes, but the lightest tint possible has worked for me. Tint all around, should be tint ALL around
