Detailed my car over the weekend (Images Linked w/thumbnails)
As the title says, I detailed my car this weekend. In the wind. At NIGHT.
Actually, I did do it in the wind, and at night. See, here in the desert, it was just too hot during the day, with no shade anywhere, so I busted out the daylighters and got started! I swear, you get the strangest looks when you are out at 11pm with an orbital buffer polishing your car .
So, here is the order I did things in:
1. Wash with Meguires NXT Car shampoo (sure beats dawn, that's for sure!)
2. Clay Bar the entire car (every single surface, 'cept wheels, tires, etc)
3. 1 Coat Turtle Wax F21 Polish
4. 2 Coats of Meguires Glaze (with ~20 hours cure time inbetween coats, with 12 of those hours hot desert sun)
5. 1 Coat Turtle Wax 100% Carnuba Wax Blend
6. 1 Coat Turtle Wax ICE Synthetic Wax
Also, the rest of the detail was me hand polishing the wheels, and cleaning the interior and windows a bit. An orbital buffer was used to do most of the applying and some of the removal, as well as a little bit of buffing the glaze. The rest of the removal and application was done by hand.
Now, everybody keep in mind, this is a DAILY DRIVER. So, I thought the results were rather impressive . If you notice, there is some specs on the pictures on my nose area; that's not dirt, it's rock chips, left for me from the previous owner. Bra is coming tomorrow, hopefully. One thing I cannot convey to everyone here with pictures is how wonderfully smooth the paint is now. It's like running my hand along slick, slick glass, or even really smooth ice . I love it!
And now, PICS! (Linked due to hugeness)

I actually thought that at first, but eventually decided against it for 2 reasons.
1. The synthetic Ice wax is a liquid, and very greasy at that, and I thought that the carnuba wax might have some trouble adhering with that coat of synthetic wax beneath it.
2. The ICE is a synthetic liquid, the carnuba blend is a natural, more viscous liquid. It seemed logical to apply the thicker product first. Also, maybe the synthetic wax will help keep the carnuba wax sealed in longer; maybe slow down the evaporation process.

The only reason I have the orbital is because it was a gift. I just can't justify in any way shape or form buying a porter cable, as well as even more products. I just...can't. . I'll have to live with the swirls; I'm sure I'll get yelled at for putting a bra on it, too .
I just wanted to post up my results for everyone to see. Thanks for the compliments, everyone.

I have to say, for what it's worth, I really like the stuff. Easy to apply, and looks good. I'm sure it won't last much more than a wash or two, but it's so easy to apply (and cheap, too!) that I don't really care if it's durable or not.
