Is this Silver or Pewter? Whatever it is, it looks perfect:

I thought pewter was more or less gold in color.

I thought about putting gold stripes on my car .... but didn't think it would work with my LOB badge (too much red in it). I eventried to get a custom badge made ... couldn't find anyone to help me with that. So .. I'm going with red stripes.

In certain lights, you can see a small tinge of a more yellow color, but it's not really gold. The color can really play around in the light, but is basically just a darker silver.

Apparently, Fourth Circle and GM's idea of "pewter" is different. I have GM OEM T/A emblems in pewter on the sides of my car. I installed the "pewter" blackbird stripes and they are WAY darker. I always understood pewter to have a goldish tint also. None in these stripes, looks more Charcoal.

Finally some insight!

I'd like to see a good picture of them if you can.

How do you post them? I have them saved to my computer. I tried, but I might not have been doing it right.

You have the option to add an attachment. However it has to be under 100k in size so you may have to play with it.

Or just send it to me at nova622 @ hotmail dot com.

Do a search for Brent Franker. I have some pewter vinyl decals he made and the color is almost spot on to GM pewter. I don't know if he makes Blackbird stripes, but he does have the pewter vinyl, he may fab up a set for a price.

Do you think it would be too dark for a Black car?

Thanks for all the help.

Yes, WAY too dark. You would barely see them. Go with as close to silver as you can and get the metallic.

The power of actually using the search.

Anyone got new pewter stripes since the last time this topic was active? Pics?
