Bird SHIT!!!
I was driving along with my t-tops open one day, and the pteradactyl of all birds crapped just about a gallon on my front window. Before I knew what was happening, somehow he did it all over my rear too. This was while I was driving. Mysteriously, none of it came in the car. Maybe he saw the Firebird logo and had a little mercy.
Anyway, this may sound goofy, but I always keep a spray bottle of distilled water in my car. It's the kind of habit a life-long black car guy develops. Anytime there's a huge turd sitting there, I just spray it until I knock all the hard pieces off. If it's been on there for a while, or if it's been in the sun, it seems to raise the paint a little. But if you get it off quickly, it seems to go down by itself.
I worked on the hood for hours over the winter, and somehow the one raised area that I was most worried about was completely gone.
