Default Raptor...

New hood bling. 8)

Er...sorry for the weird pic. It was too bright to begin with, and when I darkened it, it effed up some things.

The hood fit great, but the air box that came with it doesn't fit for shat. Nor did the safety latch that came with it. We actually found it easier to modify the stock latch and use it, rather than try and make the latch made for this hood work.

I'm going to take the Porter-Cable to the rest of the car this weekend, I'll post up some more pics then.

WS6Extreme, I was looking at the pics of the Pewter T/A, that must be a Raptor hood. It just so happens my vert. is pewter, that hood looks nice. Is the Raptor hood as tall as the WS6 hood, I mean from looking at it from the drivers seat?

Thanks, Eddie

I think it's just a tad shorter. It's been a while since I've been in a car with a WS6 hood, so it'd be tough for me to give a better idea of how much shorter.

Did you change your radiator shroud? The raptor air box needs the stock bellows and an LT1 style radiator shroud.

Thanks for the compliments, guys.

FBDYLVR: I did use the LT1 shroud, as was included with the hood from Suncoast. The box that goes on top of that is what doesn't fit. Yours looks way better than mine. The lid that goes over the air filter is so badly warped at the top center just in front of the throttle body that, with everything installed, you can look down from the top and see straight into the TB, completely past the filter. I've got a strip of duct tape on it now, and I'm going to try and call Suncoast or TByrne tomorrow if I have time to see about getting a replacement.

Plus, 1 bolt holds that upper box to the shroud? Cheesy.

Yea I would say it is a tad shorter as well. I like it a lot; however I have a replacement in the works though. It will be a hybrid of the Raptor hood and modified Mecham style design.

Wow that sucks. Yeah I'd definitely complain and get a new one. 1 bolt holds the shroud to the intake? Mine doesn't even have that. I actually picked my raptor box up from eBay as I didn't want to spend $300 more when I got the hood. Hope you get your problem remedied.

Raptor hoods look the best nice choice

I got mine through insurance. Some stupid girl backed into me at a stop light so I paid the extra money for the Raptor hood. It was only like 100$ differnce.
