how do you remove stock SS hood grill insert?

how do you remove stock SS hood grill insert? I know there are tabs or something in there to lift up? How do I do this? I want to paint it silver today

yeah theres a few tabs. I tied some string around one side and pulled till that side poped out. then just did the same to the other side.
be careful though, you dont want to scratch the paint when you are pulling on it.
