I think what's happening on your T/A headlights, is that the large nylon gears that operates the "up/down" motion of the headlight pods are starting to get worn.

There is a fix you can do and it's free and pretty easy.

Go to this webpage for the free fix. (you can also replace the gears with brass ones and you'll never have that problem again.)...

Go all the way to the bottom of the page for the Free Fix...

Hope this helps...

yeah what he said....
when my headlight gears were going out the computer does something and makes them pop up and down when using the keyless remote. as soon as I did the headlight fix with the brass gears the headlights stay down and the horn just sounds when locking and unlocking. Use that link to give you all the details you need.

I don't think they actually are supposed to go up when you lock or unlock the doors.

You can buy a new headlight motor gear and it should fix it. Motormite HELP! product line part # 42400. the run around $13.00. You can go to the Trans Am section here and there is directions to install it into the headlight motor.
