Default Stainless hose?

I want to change out all the rubber hoses in my engine bay to Stainless. Is there a kit you can buy or a write-up on what sizes/lengths/fittings to get?

Anyone know approx. how much this will cost?
Thanks

Something like this??

The hardest ones are the power steering hoses

The tough part is waiting for fittings.

Example: the teflon braided stainless hoses and reusable -AN fittings I used for just my power steering pump swap totalled out to $280. I got the supply hose in a kit for $65 from a company called www.gottashow.com, and the high pressure and return hoses and fittings I custom ordered from www.discounthydraulichose.com. The hose isn't even the expensive part at $5 a foot: it's the fittings that run $10-$14 a piece.

If you're gonna do your whole engine bay, my advice is do it in stages. Even if you can afford to drop the coin to buy all the stuff up front, the biggest pain in the *** about doing this is getting all the right size hoses/lengths matched up with all the correct fittings for what they attach to. The thing that pisses me off about 4th gens is that for whatever reason GM decided to mix and match metric with standard size fittings on some components. Doing it one component at a time will reduce the possibility of either getting things like your hose #ID's and fittings count/configuration from one part to the next mixed up, or just losing stuff. There really are no writeups or how-to's on stuff like this because there are a million different ways it can be done and not everybody's setup is the same. I got the idea for how to set mine up by just researching other people's build specs and seeing what worked for them.

My power steering didn't run that much. More like 200 with fittings and hoses. But i do agree with the hoses and fittings can be confusing. So plan your lines out well and order accordingly.

It's the difference between LS1's and LT1's. Since the LS1's don't have the remote reservoir to worry about, less hose length and two less fittings in the equation. If you've got your stuff mapped out and know exactly what you need, you can sometimes luck out by finding somebody selling whole lots of -AN fittings cheap. Good luck.

I was also pondering doig this, but abondended it after I added up the total cost. I don't need it that bad. I decided to just do some polished & painted under the hood stuff instead.

227 hawk: do you have any of the receipts for anything you bought to where you could get some of us started with correct hose lengths and fittings?
Exactly how much do you think you have invested in stainless hosing? Damn....

I love the looks of the stainless braided lines but, there are so many of them that it just looks to busy to me. But hey, thats my opinion. To each is own.

Thought of this also, but was persuaded to not get those. I was told they get nasty after a while & don't clean up ag good as the Real S.S. hoses.
