finally found the pics I was looking for over at LS2.com..
here's the post:
"once you get the stock vents off, the Billet ones will fit right in like they were meant to go in there, except that there is no locking mechanism, so they won't stay held in. To remedy this, I bought some 3M double-sided adhesive tape, and made one wrap around the sleeve of the vent, right behind where you can see the ridges on the black piece in the picture above...then when you put them in there, they will stick like a champ. I've had no problems with them since doing that.
I like them a lot, I think they look excellent and much better than the stock vents. Although I spent about $100 on all five, I think it was a good investment, as they really catch the eye. Many people here have commented on how nice they look!"
-- I'm not sure if that means that they will still move or not so that you can redirect the air flow. I wouldn't want vents that are just stuck there, but that black center part might move indepentantly from the billet ring. Try contacting him for more info I suppose.

just paint them, you get the look and the best fit, since they are the real deal.

I like them, but would just as soon paint them as posted above. Painting the whole vent is gay. But just the outside trim looks awesome.

Maybe you can seriously chill out already and realize your comments aren't going to change the way people view their cars, especially when your a total tool about it.

Last thing: I don't want to be your enemy at all man. I'm just tired of seeing all the negativity on such a great forum.
