Default my implimentation of HID lights

Ok everything is almost finished. The UPS man has keeped me waiting a lot. I have used a pair of bi-xenon e46 projectors. (out of a 2003 BMW) However the bi-xenon feature is not hooked up as of the moment. They are placed in the rear of the headlight, and the rest of the light, besides the rear reflecting pieces, are painted with a high quality glossy enamel black paint. The projectors have a shroud to prevent any light from escaping out the side, they also have a CCFL (aka cold florescent tube) halo ring around the front of the projector.

They have been 100% properly aligned, wiring harnesses have been made.

I am waiting for it to be nice outside since it has been raining for almost 2 weeks, and then i will mount the ballast and ignitors and install the headlights. I should have pictures of the lights, and other finished mods of the car by next friday or saturday.

I have not yet decided if i plan on selling future pairs of the headlights. If i decide not to i will be posting detailed how to's.

Thank you for all the replys. I fixed the ballast turns out it was a bad connection, but i have the new ones coming anyway. The light output is awsome. The cut-off is razor sharp, the halo rings are very nice.

That looks sick! Where did you get the parts to do this? And if you dont mind me asking how much did it set you back? I had been thinking about something like this for awhile.

Thanks!

Well i had the projectors for a while, but ebay was the original source. I bought two entire BMW e-series headlights and disasembled them. The projectors, and power system was $300. For this project i bought a pair of Black Halo headlights, as i tried to retro them into there, that didn't work. ~$150. I had to buy a new passenger-side headlight as the Halo one was all cut apart. $100. I bought the CCFL rings $100. i bought wiring and parts for the harness $50. I bought a new ignitor $50. Then i got annoyed at the ballast and seperate ignitor set up and bought a better one. $240. Plus with the good enamal paint $30. I spent around $1200. However i had the projectors so i would say around $800. However i had a lot of trial and error, so it could be done for ~$600.

on making the headlights for the future, i'm not sure yet. As i have decided to go back to school to get my Masters degree. So i don't think i'll have time to do this. I will end up making another pair of these however, as a true final model, rather then what i'd like to call a prototype. So i might sell those off.

those look really good. they look better than the halo headlights i bought because they are more symetrical for the hood, but i like both styles. Good work there man.
