I had it both ways and it drove me crazy when it was flat black.. It looked out of place like it was waiting for paint..never shined like the rest of the car. I took it and had it gloss black and get nothing but compliments on it now.. before the only thing i would hear was, "what happen to the back of you car"..

I think it also depends. i plan on doing it on my car. i have blacked out tail lights, so it will flow there well, also, every other on the car is blacked out, and i got black halos and black grille on an NBM car. i think its going to be very subtle, and i will have the retro badges on my "retro" rear panel.

I disagree whole heartly with your comment on how it looks bad. It was done by the first gen camaros to symbolize a BBC, and people liked the look so they are doing it on their cars. I think it looks fantastic, and would do it (or CETA depending on which car) to any 4th gen fbody I get.
