i did mine gloss black when i got rear ended and i get compliments all the time. i does look a lot better with some wide *** tires and an ss spoiler though, and you need more black to complete the look IMHO

I had it both ways and it drove me crazy when it was flat black.. It looked out of place like it was waiting for paint..never shined like the rest of the car. I took it and had it gloss black and get nothing but compliments on it now.. before the only thing i would hear was, "what happen to the back of you car"..

Did mine in simigloss I just like the contrast. I think the trick is to make it LOOK stock by using badges etc...

I think it also depends. i plan on doing it on my car. i have blacked out tail lights, so it will flow there well, also, every other on the car is blacked out, and i got black halos and black grille on an NBM car. i think its going to be very subtle, and i will have the retro badges on my "retro" rear panel.

Nine Ball...you have the FIRST one that I think actually looks good. It blends well with the stripes...good work!

I like both because it really does depend on the color of the car.....Mainly side with the flat black though, looks more retro....

I disagree whole heartly with your comment on how it looks bad. It was done by the first gen camaros to symbolize a BBC, and people liked the look so they are doing it on their cars. I think it looks fantastic, and would do it (or CETA depending on which car) to any 4th gen fbody I get.

A local person here has his flat black, on his black car...there is no gloss to it and it looks like ***. I don't know why you would even think about doing that on a black car.

It's like I said, IMHO, it looks like someone was too lazy to paint a new panel. On the 1st gen Maros FROM Berger Chevrolet, it looked ok... but not everything from a 1st gen looks good on a 4th. Could you imagine putting white walls on your 4th gen? LOL

I changed my mind, semi-gloss looks good too. Just got mine painted satin and it looks delicious.

I really only think this looks good on a white car. Doesn't look too bad on red either. Not a fan on any other color car.
